Siege Tank The Dominion’s Crucio is the new, upgraded and more fearsome siege tank, which replaced the outdated Arclite model. StarCraft 2 WCGCompetitive play with Siege Tank

VS Terran

This is the main ground-holding unit of the Terran forces. The Siege Tank is used best when defending a territory with some flying unit that will reveal the fog of war and in such way the Siege Tank will use his max range capability.

VS Protoss

Against the Protoss, the Siege Tank definitely has problems, because of the many disables and counter abilities that the Protoss troops have against them - Blink, Charge, Hardened Shield, Graviton Beam. Still you can use them in combination with Ghosts that will cast EMP rounds to destroy the shields of the Protoss army so that the tanks can kill all fast.

VS Zerg

Maybe not so efficient against the Protoss, but these machines show what they are capable of in matches against the Zerg. With their splash attack the only thing they need is good visibility and air protection. And one thing to REMEMBER - always reveal twice the range of your Tanks, which is 13, if you are on creep, because the Zerglings’ movement is 6 on creep and your Tank needs 4 sec. to transform into Siege mode, so make your moves carefully.

Countermeasures

VS Terran

  • Send some Banshees to blast them.
  • You load some of your Medivacs with units and drop them right next to the tank, while in Siege mode.
  • Use the Raven's ability to deploy some Auto-Turrets next to the tanks when they are in Siege mode.

Countermeasures Siege Tank

VS Protoss

  • Send some Immortals to deal with the tanks in Siege Mode. The Immortal's shield reduces all damage to 10.
  • Use the Phoenix’s Graviton Beam ability to lift the Siege tank in the air.
  • You can use the Zealot's Charge ability too, you better send your Zealots from at least 3 different directions.

VS Zerg

  • Use your Mutalisks to destroy the tanks.
  • Send your Roaches with researched ability, so that they can move while burrowed. Move under the tank and then attack it.
