Nydus Worm

Nydus Worm The Nydus Worm is the next step in the evolution process of the Nydus Canals. Much like the Canals, it can build a connection between two places, far away from each other. The first end of this Canal is the organic building, where the troops enter and the other end is the gigantic worm’s head, which spits all the creatures that have went through the stomach.

StarCraft 2 WCGCompetitive play with Nydus Worm

VS Terran

Against Terran players, the Nydus Worm is of great use, especially if the Terran is on a Mech build. You can spawn Banelings through it right on the enemy’s mineral fields or Speedlings near important structures for upgrades like the Armory to be destroyed. Also you can use such worm networks to retreat fast from battles that aren’t going well or if your opponent decides to harass your main base while you are attacking him in his base.

VS Protoss

A pretty nice strategy with the Nydus Worm is to spawn him inside the Protoss base, using an Overlord to gain vision. Then unleash many Zerglings through the worm. This strategy is used mainly, if your opponent has sealed his entrance with Photon Cannons.

VS Zerg

Roaches sent with Nydus Worm, if your opponent’s base is far away, is a good strategy that can even win you the game. However, it is very risky, because if your enemy anticipates such move, he/she will kill the worm quickly and all Roaches inside will die.
