StarCraft 2

StarCraft 2 picks up the action where StarCraft: Brood War ended; Wings of Liberty is actually the first part of an amazing trilogy. Those of you that love single-player modes will definitely fall for the awesome adventures and challenges of Jim Raynor; as for the fans of the multi-player – many new cool maps, units, gameplay, AI and perfect balance.

The other epic parts will be the Heart of the Swarm and the Legacy of the Void. They will be some kind of expansions to the first episode. Nobody knows for sure, the rumors say that the Heart of the Swarm will come in the early 2012; however, the Legacy of the Void remains a total mystery.

What is Starcraft 2? StarCraft 2 is a real-time strategy game that you can play both on the internet and in challenging single-player missions. In Real-time strategy games players build armies in order to control the battlefield and crush their opponents. You can win by using only one type of units but by using multiple types you can perform many tactics and ways to defeat you opponents. Strategic thinking is the key to success: gather information about your foes, harass and execute a crushing blow.

In StarCraft 2 you can choose one of three races (Terran, Protoss, Zerg) and each has absolutely unique units, structures and game-play.

What is Starcraft 2? Now StarCraft 2 is being almost entirely played on Battle.net. You can play with or against your friends from all over the world. Blizzard has made an awesome matchmaking system that allows you to play against opponents with similar level of knowledge and skill. This way you can make your way on to the top-ranked players in the world. In SC2 Battle.net you have:

  • Character profile that tracks your progress in single or multi-player games.
  • Friends list that allows you to add and chat with your pals. The best part here is that you can stay connected with your mates even if they play another Blizzard game.
  • Competitive play helps you master your skills and presents you the ladder to success and glory.
  • Blizzard’s map-making tool helps you create and publish your custom-made maps.

Another cool thing is that the records of your achievements are stored on the Battle.net servers and you can continue your quests even if you had to reinstall the game or play from another computer.

Enough with the Battle.net, let’s say something about the Single-player campaigns. As you launch the single-player the story continues where StarCraft: Brood War ended. Whether Raynor’s Riders will be able to save Kerrigan and the universe or not, it’s up to you. Another aspect of the single-player is the maps that were made to help you practice develop your skills and have fun crushing the AI opponents.
